The Return of Room 326

There are hunts in Second Life—and then there are the MadPea hunts. From the Lost Treasure of the Inca Warrior to Sanity Falls, they've taken us on huge, and sometimes puzzling, grid-wide adventures, ending with a remarkable assortment of prizes. (They're immensely fun to do with friends.) Now, one has been given an encore of sorts: opening tomorrow, Wednesday, July 3 at 12 pm slt, is Mad City, featuring the infamous Room 326, located at the shady and shuttered Silent Peacock Hotel. Something hasn't gone right at Room 326—15 people are missing after having spent a night in that room, and now it's your turn to enter and to discover clues to solve the mystery.

When you arrive, be sure to purchase a HUD—it's L$150 but well worth it—and then head into the hotel to find the room. From there, search for clues and start your adventure. Yuna Khaos, one of the event organizers, tells me that most of the destinations around the grid are new, and, she says teasingly, "We even redid the hotel scenes a bit and added a nice 'twist', but that is all I am saying." Mad City, a gorgeously rendered rainy city scene, was created by MadPea Productions in collaboration with Silex Zapezki, BlueSean Yiyuan and Sasha00 Laryukov, with the sim itself sponsored by NY Healthscape. There will be some additional events during the hunt, so be sure to keep an eye on the MadPea blog and on their Facebook page.
